Woodlands - Margaret River Winery

  • 2008 Cabernet Merlot - $25
  • 2009 Cabernet Franc Merlot - $25
  • 2008 'Margaret' a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Malbec - $45

2008 Cabernet Merlot
The colour of this wine is an intense crimson. The nose is complex and perfumed, with an amalgam of clove, char, toast, mint, blackcurrant, raspberry and cherry. The palate is rich and demure – with a lovely fruit filled entry and clean supple fruit. The wine finishes with ripe fine grained tannins.

2009 Cabernet Franc Merlot
This wine is a blend of 45% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The Woodlands Brook Cabernet Franc and Merlot portions of this wine were sourced from a gentle rise of gravelly loam soil facing North-West. The Cabernet Sauvignon portion of this wine was sourced from a north facing slope of gravely loam soil.

This wine is crimson in colour. The nose shows dense mulberry, blackberry and plum characters. The palate is very rich and dense, with considerable weight and power. Given the quality of this wine, we believe our 2009 Cabernet Franc Merlot will develop beautifully over the next ten years.

Forester - Margaret River

  • 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon - $
  • 2009 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc - $

2007 Cabernet Sauvignon
Violet / ruby in colour. The wine has lifted aromas of blackcurrants and spicy aniseed. It has a regional brooding earthiness and a dark mint character that draws a second look. The palate shows excellent vibrancy and youthfulness, this wine has a muscular structure that is not overt or aggressive. Dusty mocha, mud cake and dark chocolate flavours highlight the rich regional fruit profile of this classy Margaret River Cabernet. Well structured and generous from start to finish, the wine will age gracefully over the next decade and beyond.

2009 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
Straw / Yellow in colour. The aroma expresses the wonderful duality of good Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon blends, with a perfumed floral/nectar lift revealing some underlying, brooding herbal and foliar character.
The palate is typical of the Forester style – a supple yet refreshing palate that is punctuated by juicy ripe citrus fruit, a dusting of dried herbs and a crisp mouth watering finish.

Cider

cider

Magners Pear Cider - $6.99

First launched in Majorca (Spain) in 1999 to huge success, the popularity of Ireland's favourite cider continues to spread throughout the European mainland and beyond.

Magners Pear has a refreshingly light pear taste - crisp with plenty of fruity character. The unique, refreshing taste of Ireland's favourite cider poured over ice is no doubt be the perfect refreshment.

As with Magners Original, the raw ingredients that Magners source, i.e. the pears, are of the very highest quality available to ensure a high quality taste experience is delivered to the consumer.

Magners Pear is cold filtered which ensures that all impurities are removed, delivering a fresh, full flavoured fruity pear cider. It is these factors that have enabled Magners to produce a pear cider of the highest quality, that consumers prefer.

Honey Liqueur

liqueur

Chain of Ponds Kangaroo Island - Island Sting Honey Liqueur - $40

Perfect for these cooler evenings as an after dinner drink, cocktail or mixer. It also has great potential for the creative cook.

Island Sting is a part of that culture through the Ligurian Bee which is the only pure strain of bee in the world. Introduced from Italy in 1994 the bee has not crossed to the mainland – or crossed with other breeds.

This is a fermented product, flavoured with a mix of natural herbs, spices and tree barks found on the island. A richness and warmth of flavour which has been enhanced by the unique complexity of herbs and spices.
